manufacturing engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and documenting all manufacturing processes for OQO’s UMPC products and accessories. This position reports to the Director, Manufacturing Operations.
responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing processes.
- Drive DFM issues to closure in design, development and manufacturing engineering.
- Manage NPI and sustaining engineering issues at contract manufacturing and support partners.
- Drive quality improvements, cost reductions and controls at contract manufacturers and second tier suppliers.
- Conducts line audits at contract manufacturer and second tier suppliers.
- Develop an alternate supplier approval process for second source parts.
- Determine requirements for test fixtures, custom manufacturing processes and tooling.
- Failure analysis and corrective actions programs for manufacturing engineering processes.
- Drive EFFA.
- Frequent travel (about 25% of the time) to contract manufacturers and support partner.
requirements
- BS in industrial or manufacturing engineering.
- 5-7 years experience in high volume manufacturing of complex electronic products.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers in Asia.
- Strong cross-functional teamwork and project management skills.
- Excellent communications skills with ability to influence all levels.
- High commitment, results oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Mandarin language skills a plus.
