windows software engineer
The Windows Software Engineer creates, implements and maintains windows applications and system level software for OQO’s UMPC products. This position reports to the Director, Software Engineering.
responsibilities
- Develop Windows applications, platform specific device drivers, installers and user-interface enhancements specific to OQO XP and Vista based products.
- Develop and maintain business-specific applications and tools for the support department and manufacturing.
- Maintain currently shipping applications, drivers and installers.
- Provide Windows-level development assistance to other departments as needed.
- Generate documentation and technical/functional specifications.
- Unit level testing including test plans, scripts etc.
requirements
- Experience on shrink-wrap software product on Microsoft XP and Vista Windows Platforms.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Minimum of 6-8 years experience developing in C/C++ or C#.
- In depth knowledge of Windows applications and .NET platform.
- Knowledge of developing system services and device drivers.
- Experience interfacing with hardware/firmware such as embedded controller.
- Experience with development processes on CMMI, ISO 9000 and/or Agile etc. a plus.
