The sleek, new product combines major advances in PC design with patented miniaturization technology to provide all the functionality of a laptop in the form factor of a handheld.
"Today OQO redefines the PC landscape. With the model 01, OQO has created a breakthrough category to meet the long-felt need for a real computer that is small enough to fit in your pocket." said Jory Bell, OQO CEO. "It is finally possible to use standard Windows XP wherever you go."

next-generation personal computing
The OQO model 01 represents the next generation of mobile computing: ultra personal computing. Docked with a full monitor and keyboard the model 01 is no different from today's PCs. Using the computer undocked, mobile workers and consumers can utilize the full capability of Windows XP everywhere they go.
"With the OQO model 01, OQO is forging new ground for the mobile experience," said Jim Allchin, group vice president of Platforms, Microsoft Corporation. "Business professionals get the convenience of a full Windows XP Professional implementation in a very portable device. I'm impressed not only with OQO's technical achievement, but with their creative vision, which addresses a real customer need."
During the past quarter, a select group of 100 large enterprises have been evaluating the OQO model 01 for a range of mobile scenarios. According to Steve Roehm, Chief Engineer and IT Architect, GE Healthcare, "OQO provides a unique capability to the mobile healthcare professional. Their solution enables thick or thin client applications to be distributed on a high-performance Windows XP hand-held computing platform."
unprecedented ease of use and versatility
Simply put, the OQO model 01 is the world's smallest and most versatile PC. It comes standard with the OQO docking cable, which incorporates VGA video, Ethernet, audio, power, FireWire and USB ports to further extend functionality at a desk, in a meeting, or on the road. Users can connect to a range of peripherals, including full-size keyboards, high-resolution monitors, optical drives, printers, scanners and projectors. With an OQO users can transition seamlessly from desktop mode to handheld mode with no data synchronization required.
"The OQO may be a revolutionary form factor on the outside but what really makes it special is that it's basically a regular wintel laptop inside," said Rob Enderle, OQO beta tester and Principal Analyst for the Enderle Group. "Unlike other handhelds, the OQO runs a standard PC operating system so users get the benefits of increased mobility while entirely avoiding the support and deployment costs of yet another unique platform."
With an OQO in hand, users enjoy constant access to all their information and Windows XP applications and use the same computer for high-powered applications at the office, browsing the web at home, or listening to music on an airplane. It is the only computer you need. OQO model 01
